Southrepps is a small thriving Norfolk village two miles from the coast, with traditional flint faced cottages, set in pretty countryside. It is divided into Upper and Lower Southrepps, separated by a mile of farmland.

Lower Southrepps village has a 12 acre nature reserve (visit www.southreppscommon.org.uk ) with half a mile of boardwalk, which is accessible to wheelchairs. The area is common land and Fox's Beck is the remaining part of a river valley fen which included the whole upper Bure valley. This land provided reeds for thatching, willow for screens and alder and hazel for tool handles. The area is protected as a Site of Special Scientic Interest as there are rare species of plants,

insects and animals, including Fragrant Orchid and Marsh Helleborine which can be seen close the the edges of the boardwalk.

Southrepps Church which is fifteenth century, is very large for a village of 600 people. The tower dominates the surrounding landscape. The wealth created by the wooltrade in the medieval period meant that impressive churches were built in relatively small communities and they are a prominent feature of the Norfolk countryside.
