About Overstrand

Overstrand is an unspoilt, traditional seaside village. Crab Boats and crab pots sit at the top of the slope down to the beach, waiting for their daily outings into the sea to harvest the Norfolk Crabs and Lobsters for the many locals, restaurants and visitors who covet them so highly.

When you are not watching cricket or wandering around the regular weekly car boot sale there, the obvious, irresistible pull is the beach.

Gorgeous expanses of sand and sea can be enjoyed any time of the year. Even during the busy times there is more than enough room for everyone. If you are feeling energetic, take a walk along the beach or cliffs to neighbouring Cromer.

During Victorian times Overstrand was a very popular village for "improving their humours" and became known as "Millionaires Village" and "The Vale of Health". Consequently there are many examples of lovely old Victorian houses as well as the older cottages and of course the more recent additions!
